Find Toothache Relief with Root Canal Therapy
A severe tooth infection can cause a serious toothache. In the center of every tooth, there is a pulp chamber filled with living connective tissue. Nerves travel to the pulp chamber using tiny passages in the tooth roots, called canals. If the infection reaches these nerves, it can cause a chronic toothache that can make day-to-day activities difficult. Root canal therapy, or a root canal, allows Dr. Coleman to clean out the infection and safe the infected tooth’s remaining tooth structure.
The Benefits of Root Canal Therapy
- Protect Your Teeth | If a tooth becomes infected, the infection can spread and affect other teeth. Root canal therapy gets rid of harmful infections, and can keep the infection from spreading.
- Protect Your Health | Inner tooth infections can travel to the bloodstream and potentially cause serious health problems. Root canal therapy sterilizes the tooth and decreases the health risks associated with this kind of infection.
- Find Symptom Relief | Generally when a patient requires a root canal, they’ve been suffering from agonizing toothaches and symptoms that can make daily life difficult. Root canal therapy goes right to the source of the problem and will get rid of every symptom, so that you can find relief and feel comfortable again.
The Root Canal Procedure
During a root canal, Dr. Coleman will prepare your tooth for the procedure and then remove all of the infected tissue. Once all of the infected tissue has been removed, and the tooth has been sterilized and medicated, Dr. Coleman will cap the remaining tooth structure with a beautiful, porcelain crown. Our crowns are made using personalized molds of your natural teeth. A root canal procedure may take two appointments to complete, and a temporary crown may be placed while your permanent crown is being crafted.
